The safety systems in a vehicle can be classified under “active safety systems” which aim to prevent accidents as much as possible and “passive safety systems” which aim to minimize injury during an accident. Some systems can also be classified under the comfort system; think of a radar/lidar. The driver drives comfortably on the road with the help of this system, using the active cruise control. In case of potential danger, the system switches to a braking intervention. Therefore, radar/lidar (driver assistance) falls under both the comfort system and active safety features.
