twins park:
Twinspark is the name Alfa Romeo uses for their engines, which are equipped with 2 spark plugs per cylinder. A twin-spark engine has 2 different types of spark plugs mounted per cylinder; namely the center spark plugs (central spark plugs) and the side spark plugs (side spark plugs). This can be seen in the images below. This technique also allows for injecting in a different way (the combustion is not limited to just right under the spark plug), resulting in combustion on a larger surface.
This mainly benefits the power. Especially older Alfas could easily have a 1,4 engine with relatively much power compared to other cars. In Italy, the road tax is determined on the cylinder capacity of the engine, which is why it was experimented in this way with getting more power from a smaller cylinder capacity.
