Braking systems

Every car is equipped with a hydraulic braking system. Today, manufacturers are increasingly adopting an electronically operated handbrake. Full electric braking is not permitted by law. The brakes at the front and rear are often designed as disc brakes. Drum brakes are also used on older and cheaper, modern vehicles. A modern car is always equipped with power brakes, a load-dependent brake force distributor. Classic cars are not always equipped with these systems.
