Isofix is ​​an attachment system for child seats in the car. The child seats can be connected to the car body in a simple way. This is much safer than seat belt mounting as the seats cannot tip forward or sideways. The image below shows a child seat with 2 connections at the back.

Those connections are connected to the body hooks (see picture below) and locked. The child seat is therefore firmly attached to the car. The child seats can also be easily disassembled. Cover caps are then placed over the body hooks, so that they are no longer visible. Sometimes there are also Isofix connections on the passenger seat (front). If a child seat is fitted there, the airbag must be deactivated. This can be switched off and on with the car key (often in the glove compartment or on the side of the dashboard).
